The Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG) is a student- led group at Alfaisal University and joint with King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC). This group aims to promote community outreach, conduct workshops, facilitate mentor pairing, and organize research panels to enhance the knowledge and skills of students interested in emergency medicine. By fostering collaboration, education, and research opportunities, our EMIG aims to contribute to the growth and development of future emergency medicine professionals.
To become a leading student-driven platform in Saudi Arabia that inspires, educates, and empowers the next generation of emergency medicine professionals. We envision a community where aspiring physicians are equipped with the skills, confidence, and compassion to excel in high-pressure medical environments and to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of emergency care.
Our mission is to cultivate a supportive environment for students interested in emergency medicine by offering opportunities for hands-on workshops, mentorship programs, and research initiatives. Through collaboration between Alfaisal University and King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, we aim to bridge academic learning with real-world experience, fostering professional & personal growth of future emergency medicine leaders.
The Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG) was founded in 2023 at Alfaisal University in partnership with King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre. Dr. Noara Alhusseini is an Associate Professor of Public Health and Director of
the Master of Public Health Program at Alfaisal University. She
earned her bachelor’s degree in Community Health and Clinical Nutrition
from King Saud University, her master’s degree in Leadership of Health
Care Organizations from the University of California San Diego (UCSD), and her
Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Health Policy and Leadership from
Loma Linda University, California. She is an experienced public health professional with
expertise in epidemiology, health policy, and health system development. Her work
focuses on research leadership, program development, and advancing healthcare
practices in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. Dr. Alhusseini has published extensively on
noncommunicable diseases, lifestyle and behavioral health, mental health, and digital health.
As a faculty advisor for the Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG),
she supports student learning, research engagement, and the integration
of public health principles within emergency medicine education.
